AMFED Holds Subregional Consultation in Jordan

 

2-newFIRST SUB-REGIONAL MEDIA CONSULTATION - MASHREQ - JORDAN - JUNE 28-29, 2009
The sub-regional media consultation took place in Amman, Jordan from June 28-29, 2009 to cover the Mashreq region (Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, and Egypt ). The title of the event was "Media and Social Development in the Arab region". The event took place at the Quds International Hotel and was under the auspices of the Jordanian Prime Minister in coorperation with the Jordanian Press Syndicate, Ministry of Municipalities and El Ra'ai Jordanian newspaper

 

 
AMFED is Granted Observer Status for United Nations Environment Programme, UNEP

UNEPAccreditation of AMFED to the Governing Council/Global Ministerial Environment Forum of the United Nations Environment Programme, UNEP

The Arab Media Forum for Environment and Development has been accredited to the United Nations Environment Programme Governing Council/Global Ministerial Environment Forum.
AMFED will be receiving invitations to public meetings of the Governing Council/Global Ministerial Environment Forum as an observer at its sessions to be held in 2010 and onwards .

New initiative puts ICTs into Arab teaching PDF Print E-mail

An education initiative to improve Arab teachers' information and communication technology (ICT) skills and boost interactive learning was unveiled this month (8 April).

The initiative is part of the 'Intel Teach' programme, a global, US$100 million per year initiative focusing on training educators to use technology and integrate computers in the classroom.

Morocco invests US$3.2 billion in renewable energy PDF Print E-mail

Morocco has announced plans for a new campus providing knowledge-based services to strengthen research and training in clean technology.

The 'knowledge campus' is part of a US$3.2 billion five-year renewable energy investment plan, prepared by the Moroccan National Electricity Office and scheduled to run between 2009 and 2014.
